Our History

1928 Jack Friedman at age 20 arrives by boat in South Africa from his home in Latvia.

1933Jack Friedman Jewellers was established in South Africa.

1934Jack Friedman sets the standard for exquisite and fine jewellery 
~
1952Jack Friedman opens Bree Street factory in Johannesburg 
~
1982Jack Friedman Jewellers Sandton City opened its doors and started selling the best jewellery 
~
1991Jack Friedman Jewellers Eastgate opened its doors and started trading to the public.

1999Jack Friedman win De Beers Shining Light Award for excellence in diamond jewellery design 
~
2000Jack Friedman Jewellers Waterfront opened its doors

2002Lorna Friedman, Daughter of Jack Friedman passes away leaving Jack Friedman Jewellers legacy to her son Howard Friedman

2004Howard Friedman appears on Top Billing TV show to discuss launch of new collection

2010Opened new look Canal Walk store

2010In 2010 Jack Friedman Professional Oliver Ernest Green was awarded 3rd place in the Anglo American Plat Africa competition.

2011Opened new look store in Eastgate Shopping Mall

2012Jack Friedman Professional Oliver Green took first place in the Anglo American Plat Africa Competition. Jack Friedman took first place for the platinum neckpiece design for South Africa's award winner actress, Charlize Theron.

2013Opened new look store in Sandton City
