Shock exit on The Bachelor SA: Vivacious front runner Pasha goes home

The Bachelor - M-Net

In a surprise move, The Bachelor SA’s Marc Bucker decided to end his love journey with one of the alleged front runners to capture his heart. It’s true: Pasha dos Santos did not receive a rose this week!

From Season 2’s very first Rose Ceremony, the exquisitely beautiful 27-year-old dancer from Cape Town unleashed the green-eyed monster in the show’s luxurious mansion. Her difficult time with the other ladies started when Marc picked her as the first recipient of the then mysterious Wild Rose, which allowed her to steal a date, which she did when the first opportunity presented itself. To many of the ladies’ dismay, Pasha also clinched two coveted one-on-one dates with the handsome Bachelor, while they were anxiously waiting for their chance to get to know him a little better.

No wonder her competition – and many fans of the show – figured that she was a strong contender to end up with a ring on her finger.

Often misunderstood Pasha’s sexy lap dance at the talent show did not raise her popularity in the mansion. The ladies questioned the chemistry between Pasha and Marc and became adamant about showing him what they called “the person behind the façade”. Their devious plan kicked in at the Lottostar “Most-Likely-To” game, where they turned her into a target. Then they moved on to tipping Marc off individually during their conversations.

Even though Pasha tried to stay focused, all the tension took its toll. In the last few episodes, she made comments about being tired of running after and sharing a man. She also realised this week that Marc may no longer be interested when he didn’t address her at the pool party and was cold and unaffectionate towards her during their conversation at the Cocktail Party. During her exit, she said: “It’s okay that it’s come to this. I really appreciate the journey. It’s taught me a lot, I’ve grown a lot. I’m really, truly grateful. Out of the ladies who are left, I might pair Marc up with Jess.R or Marisia, just because they both don’t like conflict, and that’s what he likes,”.

The dramatic dinner party continued…

Last week, viewers were left in suspense, wondering if Rikki’s journey on The Bachelor SA would continue. All was cleared up when Marc asked for ten more minutes and whisked Rikki off for a chat, where he cleared things up, enjoyed a smooch and gave her a rose, phew!

While Rikki enjoyed her alone time with Marc, the rest of the ladies cleared the air. Here’s the tea:

  • Jess.R was exposed for asking Marisia not to use her Wild Rose
  • Qiniso called Jess.R out, “I actually can’t deal. The fakeness here and the desperado is wow,” she said.
  • Jess.R explained what she meant to Gillian, while Pasha rolled her eyes.
  • Pasha passed snide comments about Jess.R’s request to Marisia, which prompted Bridget to ask her to stop, “I know you want to keep it up, but you must stop now because it’s getting a bit much and everyone’s on edge and everyone’s sensitive. Just leave it,” she said.
  • Pasha didn’t stop. Bridget flipped, followed by Marisia.
  • Bridget and Pasha broke out into an intense argument… Pasha stormed off, followed by Bridget and Marisia shortly after in tears.

The Pool Party

Marc hosted a pool party at the mansion, in an attempt to lighten the mood. When he arrived, he greeted all the ladies and sat next to Jess.R, who was clearly sulky and unresponsive. The two of them left for a chat where she broke down in tears, explaining to him how she was feeling and being treated in the house. They returned from their chat holding hands, and by that point, the other ladies felt like outsiders at the pool party, with Marc only paying attention to Jess.R. He then spent some time with the other ladies, who took the opportunity to discuss the Jess.R situation, which he didn’t really enjoy. He then pulls Marisia aside, to basically tell her that he wants her to use the Wild Rose.

A special one-on-one

During the pool party, Marc delivered a date card, inviting Mulesa for a one-on-one date. But, surprise, surprise, shy Marisia decided to use her Wild Rose after all! By using her Wild Rose, she may have received one of the most special dates yet – she got to meet Marc’s beloved furry friend, Luna! Marc and Marisia spent their date bonding with each other and Luna, and eventually cuddling on some cushions in a romantic setting, where he presented her with a custom made Jack Friedman earring set – and a rose!

The Cocktail Party

The ladies were treated to a special Lottostar Casino Royale evening, where they each could bet on love with a game of Black Jack. The prize? Guaranteed uninterrupted time with Marc. In the end, Mulesa and Bridget found themselves with a similar amount of chips but decided to even it out so that Marc could choose between them. But – to Bridget’s disappointment – Jason announced a sudden death round and Mulesa won. She used the time to catch up and find out the status of their relationship.
