The Bachelor SA

M-Net’s The Bachelor SA will also hand out roses to DStv Family, Compact and Compact Plus tonight

The Bachelor - Marc Buckner

M-Net and MultiChoice have some great news for romantic souls and reality show lovers in South Africa. The much-anticipated first episode of The Bachelor SA Season 2 will be coming your way tonight as well if you are subscribed to DStv’s Family, Compact and Compact Plus packages. M-Net 101, which is usually available for the DStv Premium audience only, will be live on these packages between 19:00 and 20:30 CAT – for one night only!

In tonight’s 90-minute premiere of The Bachelor SA, easy-on-the-eye property owner, day-trader and international model Marc Buckner will meet the 22 gorgeous ladies who will be vying for his heart – and maybe become the love of his life.

“The diverse group of ladies, who come from a variety of backgrounds, will be pulling out all the stops to conjure up chemistry with Marc on the red carpet,” says M-Net’s Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard. “They’re all planning to step out in style, but some of the high heels will trip over Cupid’s arrows, while others will ignite the firsts sparks of romance. You don’t want to miss a moment of these first impressions!”

Once Marc has met all the ladies, they have to do what it takes to allow him to get to know them a little better at the glamourous cocktail party. Thereafter our man of the moment needs to make some tough decisions. There are 22 ladies, but only 20 red roses to hand out!

Only those with roses will continue their love journey in the next episode.

“But also expect a twist at tonight’s rose ceremony that will have the tongues wagging,” Lombard adds.

The Bachelor SA Season 2 will be screened on M-Net from Thursday, 13 February at 19:00. DStv Premium viewers can also catch all the romance on Catch Up, or stream the episodes live via their mobile devices on DStv Now.

The Palesa Crown

2014 - 2016

When Rolene Strauss, Miss South Africa 2014 (who became Miss World 2014), was announced at Sun City, she was crowned with a brand new glittering masterpiece worthy of her prestigious title.

The team at Jack Friedman Jewellers wanted something that was both elegant and memorable. They decided to make the crown from platinum, one of the rarest elements in the earths crust, and synonymous with South Africa which accounts for 80 percent of world production. The precious metal in the Miss SA 2014 crown comes from Anglo American Platinum.
